Event: ‘Moving Worlds’ film series by FOMACS

Moving Worlds: Cinemas of Migration

The Forum on Migration and Communications (FOMACS) at DIT is organising a 8-week film series called ‘Moving Worlds: Cinemas of Migration’ from 22 May – 10 July.

The festival has been able to get some of the directors, producers, and scriptwriters of the films being screened to present their films, and some of the screenings are accompanied by a workshop on issues around filmmaking, immigration, and the ethics and politics of representation.

Mark worked for five years managing the pr campaign of the Rossport Five. He is a lecturer in Sociology in GMIT and a senate candidate in the NUI constituency.

BCI Code of Programme Standards Response deadline date

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has today (Tuesday 5th September) launched the draft BCI Code of Programme Standards. The launch marks the third and final phase of consultation on the Code and the Commission hopes to hear the views of members of the public, broadcasters and various interest groups prior to finalising the Code at the end of this year.
